| Though I can not testify to the successes and progress of others, I can share what has worked for the Team and I. Going on the ideals and methods similar to that of Cesar Milan and other believers of the "pack" mentality, we have formed our family unit: a leader and three followers. I am a strong believer in that dogs, no matter how much we wish to envelope them in human culture, are from their own ancestry and not ours. Their rank and file, their form of communication, their comradery and sense of community, etc... All very different than ours. Though we can not learn their language nor can they learn ours, I believe it is imperative to find a medium to communicate by. Over time, trial and error, and lots of practice... We have developed our own simple (yet effective) form of communicating. Simple, single syllable words, hand gestures, and various whistles have made it possible for me to tell the team what I want of them, and vice verse. Has it taken time and patience in developing this language and trust? Absolutely. Is our success based on this time and patience and practice? Right Again. Will this be an on-going process that we will practice indefinitely? Yes, and something I commit to as a responsible dog owner (of ANY breed). To follow are the views of some notable trainers and techniques they use: |
NOTE- Always consult a professional trainer or behaviorist before beginning any training or rehabilitation regiment. |
