| Q: What is 100 Mile Walk for Pit Bulls? A: In memory of the late Denver City Councilwoman Carla Madison; 100 Mile Walk for Pit Bulls is to raise awareness of the true American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and The Staffordshire Bull Terrier... their character and nature as a breed and as a family pet, to debunk the urban legend of a what a Pit Bull is and what it is not, to demonstrate the loyalty, obedience, humor and love that is Pit Bull, to promote responsible ownership of Pit Bulls and ALL animals, and to gain the community's support in over-turning local breed specific laws in Denver, CO that directly discriminate against these breeds based on miss-information. |

| July 12 - 17, 2011 / Denver, CO Daily walking time: 9am - 4pm Route: (see maps here) (daily updates available on Facebook.com/ 100 Mile Walk for Pit Bulls) Finish Line Event July 17, 11am-3pm Hosted by: Canine Rehabilitation & Conditioning Group, Aspen Arbor Animal Hospital, and Whole Pets Natural Food & Supplies 8855 W. 116th Circle Broomfield, CO 80021 (Corner of Wadsworth and 116th Circle - Click here for map) Event Details 100 Mile Walk for Pit Bulls will circumnavigate the city of Denver, CO. The walk will take approx 6 days to complete and its route will pass through many non-breed ban cities and towns that neighbor the city of Denver. Everyone and ALL BREEDS are welcome to join the walk, at any point, and for as long as they wish... whether it be a few hundred feet, a few miles, or an entire day of walking. Note: We ask that all who wish to participate obey all local leash laws, bring plenty of water, poop bags, sun screen and mini first aid kit for their dogs, and that all dogs be well socialized around other dogs and people prior to the event. The finish line event will include vendors, dog training demonstrations, dog rescues, dog related resources, and food vendors. ALL animals must be leashed or crated during event.
